About Me

Cynthia B Rogers, LMFT, RDT

Hi! My name is Cynthia Rogers, and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) based in the Bay Area of California. Through telehealth, I provide services to clients all across the state. I work with adults specializing in anxiety, relationships, low self-esteem, and life transitions. Drawing from evidence-based modalities (e.g. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), expressive arts modalities (e.g. Drama Therapy), mindfulness, and self-compassion‚ I will assist your inquiry into and practices for feeling better and creating positive change.

My approach

Utilizing a variety of modalities (cognitive behavioral therapy, internal family systems, drama therapy, mindfulness, and self-compassion), I will tailor my approach to what best suits your needs. We will inquire into the conditioning, patterns, and roles which impact your current behaviors, stories, and beliefs about yourself. You will learn to understand and shape your nervous system with greater agency; to relate to your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors more effectively; to engage the various parts within you more wisely.

My focus

I have found that my style and approach are a good fit for adults who find themselves dealing with anxiety, low self-esteem, and transitions in relationships, work, or life in general. I work to help my clients to see themselves as a Choice-Maker. We may not always be able to control the external circumstances we find ourselves in, but we can learn how to consider what will serve, be open and curious about how we relate to the challenges we face, and explore options for wise action.

My communication style

My communication style is calm, open, kind and curious. It is my intention to create a safe, supportive, and welcoming space for you to be heard and understood as we explore the issues and concerns with which you are currently grappling.

My journey to therapy

In the beginning, I basically chose to become a therapist to understand myself better. I had a career as an actor in my early 20s and found I wanted “Life” to be my art rather than “Art” my life. I wanted answers to the bigger questions of what it means to be a human being. Fast forward to now, and I can say I’ve had quite a journey over the years – exploring these questions and applying the insights and compassion I’ve gained not only to myself but to the work I do with others. It’s a privilege to do this work, and I look forward to speaking with you.
